Personal Development Daily Journaling Prompts for August 2021

I’m so sorry that this post is so late! I’ve been working on the new 2022 planners and calendars, which are coming soon, wink, wink, so be on the lookout for those.

In addition to that, I’ve been spending most of the day at my daughter’s house helping her with the kids. The first couple of weeks are always the hardest. The baby has been a little colicky and not sleeping well at night but she found some really good gas drops and he’s been so much better since.

I’ve been catching up on many of the blog tasks that I’ve been neglecting and things are starting to get back to normal around here.

Now on to this months prompts…

Once a month I will give you a list of journaling topics for every day. This will give you some new ideas for what to journal about and take the pressure off of trying to find something to write about every day.

Some days will be the same each month. For example…

At the beginning of each month, we will concentrate on setting our goals. Even if you did this earlier in the year, things change, so it can be a good idea to re-evaluate and update your goals each month.

In the middle of the month, we will see what progress we’ve made so far. This is a chance to re-focus on any goals that may have slipped off your radar.

At the end of the month, we will take a look back and write about the good things & favorite memories from the month. We will also evaluate our goals progress to see what still needs work in the upcoming months.

All of the other days will have new prompts to get you motivated!

This month is all about personal development and becoming the next-level version of you.

Choose ONE prompt each day and dedicate 5-10 minutes to writing your answer. If your time runs longer because you have a lot to write, it’s okay. Keep writing!

Be as creative as you like here…the sky’s the limit!

JOURNALING SUPPLIES I RECOMMEND

Even though you only need a pen and paper, here are some of my favorite journaling supplies if you want to check them out:

  • I like to use a few different notebooks for journaling but my favorite is this Leuchtturm1917 Softcover. I prefer the squared pages but you can also get the dot grid, lined, or blank formats.

  • If you would rather use a spiral binding, these notebooks are the best! I love that they come in a three-pack so I always have an extra one on hand. These are also a squared format but I think they are available in lined and dot-grid too.

  • To be honest, my go-to pen is a simple, classic black Bic but when I want something a little fancier I use either use these Muji Gel Pens or these Micron Sakura Pigma.

  • Get creative with your journaling and add some Washi Tape, Stickers, or if you’re artistic you can draw your own doodles.

  • Sometimes I like to add photos to my journaling and over the years I’ve tried a bunch of different printers. I started out using this Fujifilm Instax Mini but it wasn’t very practical to carry around all the time. Since the quality was so much better when I use my phone for pictures I decided to splurge on the Canon Ivy Mini Printer. It connects directly to my phone through the app and easily prints on 2x3 sticker photo paper that I can add right to my journal page instantly.

I hope today’s post inspires you to pick up your journal and start writing! Here are a few Everyday Journaling Prompts to get you started.

I’m so happy you stopped by today! Thanks, ❤️
