Election Night Essentials: Free Printable Trackers & Maps
Election night is coming up fast, and it’s shaping up to be one of the most crucial elections of our lifetimes. No matter what your age or where you live, this election will have a lasting impact on the future of our country.
Watching the election results come in can be exciting, but it can also be intense and nerve-wracking. That’s why I created these election night printables—to help us stay engaged, organized, and maybe even make the night a little more fun!
These printables are a great way to keep track of the results as they’re announced.
Use them to stay updated on the electoral map, tally the votes for each party, and reflect on the importance of every state’s role in this historic event.
Here’s what’s included in the pack:
U.S. Map Coloring Sheet – Track results visually with a map of the United States.
You can color in each state red or blue as results come in to create a real-time view of the electoral map.
By the end of the night, you’ll have a colorful (and hopefully clear!) picture of how the nation voted.
It’s also a great activity for families watching the results together, helping kids understand the importance of each state and the electoral process as a whole.
State Electoral College Guide – This handy reference sheet lists each state with its number of electoral college votes.
With all the information in one place, you won’t have to search online every time a state is called. Just glance at your guide to see the weight each state carries in the race to 270 electoral votes.
This guide makes it easy to predict potential paths to victory as each new state result is announced.
Please note that this reference sheet is valid for the 2024 and the 2028 presidential elections.
Electoral Results Tracker – This page is perfect for jotting down the electoral votes for each state as they’re announced throughout the evening.
You can record the state’s name, its number of electoral votes, and which party secures those votes.
With dedicated columns for Democrats and Republicans, the sheet makes it easy to see how close each candidate is to the 270 votes needed to win.

This election feels personal, and it’s so important to me that my voice, and the voices of so many incredible women, are heard.
I already cast my ballot here in New York during early voting. As I filled in that ballot, I thought of my daughter, her friends, my future granddaughters-in-law, and of all the women who came before us, some right here in Seneca Falls, to secure this right.
Voting isn’t just a privilege—it’s a duty, and this year, our lives as women truly depend on it.
If you haven’t voted yet, there’s still time to make your voice count. Every vote truly matters, and together, we can help shape the future we want to see.
I’m proud to say I’ve voted for all the women in our country, and I encourage you to do the same if that aligns with your values. This is a moment where we can all come together, make a difference, and be part of something bigger than ourselves.
So, as we settle in to watch the results on election night, let’s make it a bit more interactive and maybe even a little less tense.
These printables can be a fun way to channel our excitement and stay connected to what’s happening. Grab your printables, your markers, and let’s watch history unfold together.
SUPPLIES I RECOMMEND FOR PRINTING
A PRINTER
If you’re going to be printing in color, I really recommend investing in an HP Instant Ink-compatible printer. The quality of the finished product is amazing! If you don’t need a color printer, I highly recommend a laser printer like the Brother L23 Series. You will save hundreds on ink. You can also get a color laser printer which I would LOVE to have!
PAPER
For everyday printables, planners, and coloring pages for the kiddos I normally use Hammermill Printer Paper, 20 Lb. I love that you can get a small box of 3 reams instead of having to buy one at a time or a whole case of 10.
If I want something a little nicer, I use this laser paper which is incredibly smooth and has very little to no ghosting on the other side. This is perfect if you like to use pens/markers that are prone to bleeding through to the other side.
For printing on A5 paper, I use this Blank 6-Hole Punched A5 Paper. You can also get it without the holes but it’s $6-7 more. Which I think is odd because it’s usually the other way around and you have to pay more for the hole punching.
If you're printing a binder cover that is fade-resistant and lasts a long time, I would recommend the best paper using Epson Presentation paper. It's heavy like cardstock (48 lb), is great when laminated, and is made to last for decades.
